Hammacher Schlemmer offers this red light camera detector, which is made to notifies you when you are approaching an intersection being monitored by a red light camera. The GPS-enabled device compares your automobile’s bearings with an internal database of 6,000 red light and speed camera locations in the U.S. and Canada.
The reg light detector has a 1.6-inch OLED color display showing you your position on a digital street map. It will alerts you to the presence of red light cameras with visual and audible cues, and shows how far away you are from the red light camera.
You can update the red light camera database by connecting the device to a Windows PC. The detector is priced at $199.95.
Stupid… with your regular GPS you can download these as Waypoints from a website or two. No need to spend more money for another GPS device.
