Lenovo brings to the CES its IdeaPad U1 Hybrid notebook that features a unique, all new PC form factor, in addition to its new netbooks and all-in-one PCs. The U1 comes with 11.6-inch LED multitouch screen that can be removed and used as an independent slate tablet. The device basically combines a notebook and a slate tablet into one, each with its own processor OS.

In traditional clamshell form, the IdeaPad U1 is a 11.6-inch notebook powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo CULV processor and runs Windows 7. When the multiouch screen is detached, it becomes a slate tablet with Qualcomm SnapDragon processor, 16GB SSD and Lenovo’s customized Skylight Linux OS. The U1 supports 3G connectivity in addition to WiFi and Bluetooth. It gets also integrated webcam and stereo speakers.
The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid will be available on 1 June 2010 for $999.1. It has a fashionable scarlet red exterior.
