Samsung Wave S8500 Smartphone runs Bada

Samsung introduces at the MWC 2010 the new Wave S8500 smartphone that uses the company’s new Bada open mobile platform. The Wave includes the Social Hub feature that seamlessly integrates all major email providers, IM and social networking services.

The Wave is powered by a 1GHz processor and features a 3.3-inch Super AMOLED display, a 5 Megapixel camera with LED Flash, Touch AF, geotagging, A-GPS support, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n. It’s camera sports Face/Blink detection, Smile Shot, Panorama Shot, Beauty Shot functions and is able to record 720p HD video. The smartphone has built-in HD video player and music player and FM tuner.
The Wave S8500 gets the TouchWiz 3.0 UI and supports Samsung Apps. It has 2GB internal memory and a microSD card slot. It will be available in May 2010.

Thank you for the superior article, so I’ve been a samsung person for approximately 5 years now, and I latterly upgraded from a samsung omnia i910 to the Samsung Wave and thus far I’m loving it! (I do leave out some options of my omnia though) I’m from Halifax Nova Scotia in Canada, I used to be originaly going to attend it out for the galaxy s to arrive on the bell network but made up our minds to buy the wave as an alternative and shop myself $400.
