Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone – Android 2.1, 4-inch AMOLED, 1GHz CPU

Samsung announced at the CTIA 2010 its Galaxy S GT-I9000 Androiod smartphone, which is one of the most powerful Android device on the market. Like the Nexus One/HTC Desire, this new Galaxy phone is boosted by a 1GHz processor and runs Android 2.1 OS.

At just 9.9mm thick, the Galaxy S sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen display with the mDNIe (mobile Digital Natural Image engine) technology for “sharper and crisper” images; a 5 Megapixel camera with auto focus, smile shot, panorama shot and 720p HD video recording; and built-in A-GPS support. The GT-I9000 supports Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity. It has 8GB or 16GB internal memory and supports microSD up to 32GB.
The Samsung Galaxy S works on quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band 3G HSDPA 7.2Mbps networks. It will be available in Europe, North America, Latin America, Australia, and Asia soon. The device measures 64.2 x 122.4 x 9.9mm and weighs 118g.
