Synology adds to its DiskStation line the new DS410 4-bay NAS server designed for home to business workgroup users. Based on a 1.06GHz CPU, the DS410 has 512MB memory. It has four SATA drive bays supporting both 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch hard drives with a total capacity of up to 8TB.
The DiskStation DS410 supports Synology Hybrid RAID, iSCSI Target as well as JBOD, RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5, RAID 5+Spare, RAID 6 configurations. It can be used with Apple Time Machine and even Amazon S3 for cloud backup. Synology’s new NAS can also serve media streaming, FTP/HTTP hosting, printer server, torrent download and Surveillance Station.
Synology DiskStation DS410 comes with two USB 2.0 ports and an eSATA port for external storage. It is priced at $499.
