Sony Europe announced the Walkman NWZ-W250 series wearable and water-resistant portable music player. This new Walkman has a stylish, wire-free design that basically combines the player and the headphones. The W250 includes the ZAPPIN technology that scans through stored tracks, playing a short sample from each song to help you find the right music for that moment.

The NWZ-W250 Walkman comes with a 13.5mm EX headphones. It supports MP3, WMA, AAC, WAV audio files and has 2GB (NWZ-W252) or 4GB (NWZ-W253) internal storage. It includes the Quick Charge function that gives 90 minutes playback with 3 minutes charge.

The Sony Walkman NWZ-W250 is IPX5 rated for water-resistant and comes in Black, White, Pink and Lime Green. It will be released in late May.

    I think it’s more water resistant than water proof :D I just bought one today and can’t wait to try it out in the gym tomorrow :D My wife got one about a month ago and she just loves it :D

    No, my understanding is that they can’t be used while swimming for example so not “water-proof” as you say.

    Is “water-resistant” the same as “water-proof”?
    If I dropped these players in the lake, would they still work, guaranteed?
