Neofonie WePad Slate Tablet gets Atom, Multitouch, Linux

German company Neofonie announced its WePad, a slate tablet device powered by Atom platform. The WePad features a 11.6-inch multitouch display with 1366×768 resolution and it runs the Linux-based WePad OS with support for Java, Flash and Adobe AIR.
The WePad sports an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor and gets 16GB/32GB storage. It comes with a 1.3 Megapixel webcam, a card reader and a SD/SDHC expansion slot. Two models will be released, the 16GB WePad priced at Euro 499 and the Euro 569 WePad 3G with 32GB, GPS and 3G connectivity. Both of them support Bluetooth and WiFi.
The WePad is housed in a magnesium-aluminum case and weighs just 800g.

Please be real or apple fix your ipad. The desert does not forgive for a poor design and guarantees to cook if the thoughts are not put into the design. I grow tired of pulling out my laptop out just because it can handle the heat, though I do love the power it holds over so many other laptops when I decide to go gaming. Cellphones are just too small for the most part. Netbooks are ok, but then a person has to take it out of a case, flip the cover, hit power, wait, sign on, then work–at that point id rather just pull out my laptop. If the case needs ventilation as well, please make it an option as it will be worth it for a consumer. If the ipad needs an inch to breath just send me one as i could care less if it was super thin and “stylish”. I may be alone, but I’ll take a thicker pad with staying power over a spaghetti string that cannot last 3 minutes in the sun
