Verizon Motorola Droid X Android Smartphone angle

Verizon Wireless and Motorola finally made the Droid X (aka Shadow, Droid Extreme) Android smartphone official. The new phone sports a TI OMAP3630 45nm processor running at 1GHz with ARM Cortex-A8 microprocessor core, POWERVR SGX graphics core and IVA 2+ hardware accelerator.

The Droid X features a large 4.3-inch 854×480 touchscreen display, a 8 Megapixel camera with auto focus, dual LED flash and image editing tools, 8GB internal storage, aGPS/sGPS support, eCompass, Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity. The device can record 720o HD video and offers HDMI output. It includes also a microSD card slot for expansion, DLNA support, 3.5mm jack and USB port. Droid X has built-in WiFi mobile hotspot function and comes with Swype keyboard.

Verizon Motorola Droid X Android Smartphone back

Motorola Droid X is running the Android 2.1 OS and will receive Android 2.2 and Adobe Flash Player 10.1 update in late summer. It works with Verizon’s CDMA 800/1900 EV-DO Rev. A network. It is said that GSM version of the Droid X will be released in other regions. This 4.3-inch Android phone will be available beginning July 15 for $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
