Amazon updates its Kindle e-book reader, introducing the new Kindle WiFi and the Kindle 3G+WiFi. Compare to the original Kindle (Kindle 2 to be exact), the new Kindle has a new sleek design with a 21 percent smaller body while still keeping the same 6-inch-size reading area, a 15 percent lighter weight at just 8.7 ounces, 20 percent faster page turns, up to one month of battery life, double the storage to 3,500 books.

Like the Graphite Kindle DX, new Kindles come with an all-new electronic ink display with 50 percent better contrast, that allows for faster page turns and sharper fonts. Other the 3G wireless, updated Kindles also include built-in WiFi. They come with, new QWERTY keyboard, improved PDF reader and new Webkit-based browser, new Voice Guide.

The Amazon Kindle WiFi is priced at $139 while the Kindle 3G+WiFi costs $189. They are now available for pre-order at Amazon and will be ship to customers in over 140 countries and 30 territories beginning August 27. WiFi version comes in Graphite while the 3G+WiFi version in White and Graphite.
