E-ink Triton Color ePaper Announced

E-ink, the company behind the screen of most e-book readers, has just announced the Triton display technology that enables color ePaper. In addition to 16 levels of grayscale we found on ordinary e-ink displays, Triton is capable of displaying thousands of colors. Color displays made with Triton Imaging Film enable ultra-low power and high mobility devices with a paper-like experience, and are fully viewable in direct sunlight.
According to E-ink, the Triton color display can perform up to 20 percent faster than those made with previous generations of E Ink Imaging Film, no matter it’s turning a page, selecting a menu, taking notes, or viewing simple animations.
