Panasonic brings two new touchscreen digital cameras, the 16.1 Megapixel LUMIX DMC-FP7 and the 14.1 Megapixel LUMIX DMC-FP5. The former has a sleek mirror finish while the latter has a matte finish. They sport an ultra thin 4x optical zoom lens with folded optics and the Venus Engine VI image processor with Intelligent Resolution Technology.
The DMC-FP7 and DMC-FP5 feature Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto (iA) mode which offers MEGA OIS image stabilization, Intelligent ISO control, face detection, Intelligent Scene Selector, AF Tracking and Intelligent Exposure. They also include the Sonic Speed Focus AF for users to capture high quality spur-of-the-moment images even faster. 720p HD video recording is also included in both models.
The LUMIX DMC-FP7 comes with a 3.5-inch 16:9 large LCD display and the FP5 has a 3-inch 3:2 LCD and both of them have Smart Touch Screens allowing users to enable Touch Auto Focus (AF), Touch Zoom, Touch Shutter and Intelligent Scene Selector simply by touching the screen. The LUMIX FP7 will be available in blue, black and red, while the LUMIX FP5 will be available in blue, black, pink and silver.
