Alongside with the P300, Nikon adds to its P series a new ultra zoom model, the CoolPix P500 that is the successor to the P100 with 26x zoom. The P500 sports a 12.1 Megapixel CMOS image sensor, a 36x optical zoom NIKKOR lens with 22.5mm wide angle, and a 3-inch LCD display with anti-reflection coating. It packs Nikon’s new EXPEED C2 dual image processor.
The long zoom CoolPix P500 offers ISO up to 3200, sensor shift + electronic vibration reduction (VR) function, Easy Panorama function, high-speed continuous shooting at 5fps, filter effects, Night Landscape and Night Portrait modes, and Backlighting HDR function. The camera has full manual control and has an electronic viewfinder for sharp, steady shooting. It supports Full HD 1080p video recording and provides HDMI output.
The Nikon CoolPix P500 will be available in March for $399.95.
