Along with the DataTraveler 4000, Kingston also announced the DataTraveler Vault – Privacy Managed (DTVPM) enterprise-grade secure USB flash drive. The drive offers corporate customers centralized control of all USB activity and must be managed by the BlockMaster SafeConsole drive management system. With SafeConsole, administrators can enable specific extended DTVP-M features, configure password and device policies, remotely reset passwords, activate audit for compliance and file restriction options to control what file types may be saved to the drive.
The DataTraveler VPM comes in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB and 32GB capacities. It provides up to 24MB/s read and 10MB/s write speeds and is protected by hardware based, 256-bit Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) in Cipher Block Chaining (CBC) mode. With a ruggedized aluminum case, the drive is also waterproof.
