Cobra will ship on 1 May the PhoneLynx for Android, which is a “Bluetooth-enabled device that allows users to eliminate the expense of a landline service plan, while maintaining the convenience and comfort of using existing home phone or small office handsets.” Basically, the PhoneLynx pairs with your cellphone via Bluetooth and connects to home phone system. Then when your cell phone rings, all the home phones ring, and when you place an outgoing call on your home phone, the call goes through using the cell phone connection.
The PhoneLynx is to be used with the new Android app to enhance the integration between home phone systems and Android devices. Features offered include speed dial, messaging waiting, auto hands-free, voice mail, alarm clock and ClearCall noise-cancelling technology.
Cobra’s PhoneLynx for Android will be priced at $59.99.
