by Sze | Filed under Laptop
MSI introduces the GX780 17-inch notebook powered by Sandy Bridge processor and equipped with SteelSeries’ made-for-gamer LED backlight keyboard that offers 1,000 color combinations, 5 scenario modes, support for simultaneous pressing of 10 keys and the so-called “Golden Triangle” layout that is ideal for gaming.

Like the GT680, the GX780 is boosted by Intel’s Core i7-2630QM 2GHz processor. It packs up to 16GB of RAM, a NVIDIA GeForce GT555M with 1GB GDDR RAM, up to dual 750GB hard drives and a DVD SuperMulti burner or Blu-ray drive. The notebook comes with a 17.3-inch 1920×1080 or 1600×900 LED-backlit display and is also equipped with Sound by Dynaudio, THX TruStudio Pro and 2.1-channel speakers. Other features include 720p HD webcam, multi-in-one card reader, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11b/g/n, HDMI output, USB 3.0 port and an eSATA port.
The exterior design of the GX780, as MSI mentioned, combines the classic, succinct appearance of a limousine with the aerodynamic contour of a spacecraft creating a low-key composure but powerful image. The black casing of the GX780 is specially covered with brushed aluminum with a silver MSI logo.
