Contour announced its new Contour+, its first hands-free video camera for the broadcast and prosumer markets. The camera features a 5 Megapixel sensor for 1080p Full HD video recording, a six-element glass lens, a 170-degree field of view and an adjustable white balance to dial-in details. It offers an external 2.5mm microphone jack to capture crisp audio.
The Contour+ has built-in Bluetooth for connecting to a mobile phone, creating a wireless viewfinder. It also offers HDMI output and an external transmitter to broadcast live action in real-time. The Contour+ includes built-in GPS receiver that tracks exact location, speed and altitude while shooting in hands-free HD. It uses microSD card for storage supporting up to 32GB.
Contour+ has a water-resistant aluminum shell that is made to take a beating in extreme environments from raging storms to muddy tracks. It comes with 3 mounts. The helmet camera is available for $499.
