Sprint is going to release Motorola’s PHOTON 4G Android smartphone on 31 July. As Sprint’s first international 4G smartphone, the PHOTON 4G supports not only the carrier’s WiMAX 4G and CDMA EVDO network, but also quad-band GSM/EDGE and tri-band WCDMA 3G network, making it a true global phone. Chinese company Haier announced its HaiPad tablet device for the Chinese market. The 7-inch HaiPad runs Android Froyo with a customized UI. It is powered by FreeScale iMX515 A8 800MHz processor and supports Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WiFi 802.11b/g/n and WCDMA 3G connectivity. The HaiPad, like Samsung’s Galaxy Tab, can handle phone calls and text as well.
