NEC announced its new NP-L50W lightweight LED digital projector designed for traveling business users. The new projector is equipped with LED solid state light source offering 500 lumens brightness, up to 20,000 hours of life, and a mercury-free design. Based on 0.45-inch DLP technology, the L50W features 1140×912 WXGA native resolution, 2500:1 contrast ratio.
The NEC L50W comes with 1GB internal memory for storing presentation files and media files. It supports MJPEG (AVI), MPEG2, H.264 (AVI, MOV, MP4, 3GP) and WMV videos; MP3, WMA, WAV audio; JPEG, BMP image files. There is also Office Viewer that supports Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, as well as Adobe PDF documents. Its SD input expands the internal storage up to 32GB.
The NP-L50W has a filter-free design eliminating the hassle and time spent monitoring and changing filters. It sports a 2-watt speaker, built-in wall color correction, built-in closed captioning, and 10-step magnification with location control allows you to zoom in on key information. The unit provides HDMI, VGA and composite inputs. Coming in October, the NEC L50W is priced at $799.
