Synology introudces the new DiskStation DS212j 2-bay NAS server for small office and home use. The budger-friendly server is a file storag and sharing solution with low power consumption and running on DiskStation Manager (DSM) operating system to delivers ease of use and a variety of features. For home users, the DS212j is an ideal media server that work seamlessly with iPhone, iPad, and Android phone, letting users to stay in touch with their stored digital content on-the-go.
The DiskStation DS212j is powered by a 1.2GHz processor with 256MB of RAM. It has one Gigabit LAN port and two USB ports. The unit include DLNA Media Server for streaming media files to TV, gaming console and portable devices, and iTunes Server for easy music sharing. Its Download Station functions as a 24×7 BT, FTP, HTTP, eMule, and NZB download center without a PC.
The included Synology Data Replicator allows Windows PC users to backup their files and the DS212j also works with Apple TimeMachine for backing up. The server has a new enclosure design. It has room for two 3.5-inch/2.5-inch SATA hard drives supporting a maximum of 6TB capacity.
