Altec Lansing introduces the LIVE 5000 (model MN5000) WiFi music system designed for users to enjoy and control cloud content and their personal music libraries from a wide range of devices. With support for WiFi 802.11b/g/n wireless network, the LIVE 5000 connects to user’s existing home Wi-Fi network and streams music from local source or Internet services.
As a music sytem for whole home, the LIVE 5000 allows users to stream different music to different rooms or the same music to multiple rooms by linking LIVE 5000 units. The Android, iOS and Desktop LIVE Controller apps also brings the controllers to everyone’s hand. The WiFi speaker is driven by a tri-amp system, and sports two 3-inch mid-range drivers constructed of super strong Kevlar to deliver true vocals and mid-tones with minimal distortion; two neodymium soft-dome tweeters for higher sensitivity without ear fatigue and a smaller footprint; and a long-throw 4-inch subwoofer and passive radiator specifically designed for punchy bass reproduction.
In addition to wireless, the LIVE 5000 also provides USB port, AUX input and 3.5mm headset jack. It will be available in early Summer 2012.
