In addition to the ultra zoom P510, Nikon also updates the P-series with the new CoolPix P310 compact digital camera, which is the successor to the CoolPix P300. With a compact body, the camera packs a 16.1 Megapixel Backside Illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensor and a 4.2x wide angle optical zoom NIKKOR glass lens with a fast f/1.8 maximum aperture to deliver excellent low-light performance.
The CoolPix P310 is equipped with Nikon EXPEED C2 image processor to deliver quality images and it supports high-speed continuous shooting at up to 5 shots in approximately one second. The camera also features optical VR image stabilization and wide ISO range up to 3200 to further enhanced the performance in low-light condition. It has several scene modes including Advanced Night Portrait mode, Night Landscape mode and Backlight/High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode, and provides different exposure modes: Programmed, Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority or Manual.
Nikon P310 is capable of Full HD 1080 video recording at 30fps with AF, stereo sound. Not only allows users to use optical zoom while video recording, the camera also lets users edit movies in-camera for a seamless moviemaking experience. The P310 comes with a 3-inch LCD display and its HDMI output allows you to show images and videos on HDTV.
Coming in February, the Nikon CoolPix P310 will be available for $329.95.
