Canon introduces its new PowerShot A-series digital cameras for entry-level users to learn the joy of photography. The new flagship models in the A-series are the PowerShot A4000 IS and PowerShot A3400 IS models with Canon’s Intelligent IS function, which will automatically selects the most effective image stabilization mode to capture the best results.
The A4000 IS and A3400 IS both feature 16 Megapixel image sensor and DIGIC 4 image processor. The former comes with a 8x optical zoom lens with 28mm wide angle and the latter is equipped with a 28mm wide angle 5x optical zoom lens, both with Optical Image Stabilization. They have a 3-inch LCD display and the A3400 has a touchscreen for intuitive operation and Touch Shutter for easy photo shooting.
Like other new Canon cameras, the A4000 and A3400 include Smart AUTO mode that selects best scene settings based on 32 predefined shooting situation to deliver best images. Both cameras record 1280x720p HD video with a dedicated movie button. The PowerShot A4000 IS will be available in black, silver, blue, red and pink for $199.99, and the PowerShot A3400 IS in black, silver, red and gold for $179.99.
