OWC (Other World Computing) launches the Mercury Accelsior, which is the industry’s first fully Mac and PC supported bootable (also the only Mac-bootable) PCIe SSD card. The SSD card uses 24nm Toggle-Synchronous high-performance NAND and the high-speed PCI-Express slot, providing a data transfer rate of 780MB/s read and 648MB/s write.
Each Mercury Accelsior SSD card is equipped with two Accelsior SSD blades and dual LSI SandForce SF-2281/82 processor, and the line is available in 120GB, 240GB, 480GB and 960GB capcaity configurations. Using SandForce controllers, the Mercury Accelsior features SandForce’s DuraClass technologies including DuraWrite for extended SSD endurance, Intelligent Block Management and Wear Leveling that automatically distributes data evenly, Intelligent Read Disturb Management, Intelligent Recycling for advanced free space management, RAISE (Redundant Array of Independent Silicon Elements) that protects the data similar to a RAID setup, as well as ECC protection.
The priced are $399.99 for 120GB, $549.99 for 240GB, $979.99 for 480GB and $2179.99 for 960GB.
