Toshiba introduces its new Satellite U845W, which is the world’s first Ultrabook with a 21:9 ultrawide cinematic display. Designed with movie enthusiasts and productivity power users in mind, the laptop’s display is ideal for watching 2.35:1 movies in their original format without black bars. The ultra widescreen is also intended to provide more space for better split-screen viewing different applications. The 14.4-inch 21:9 display has 1792×768 resolution.
With a slim profile at 0.82-inch thick, and lightweight design, the U845W (aka U840W in Europe) is precisely constructed of machined aluminum with luxurious soft-touch trim. It is powered by the latest Intel 3rd gen Core Ivy Bridge processor, up to 8GB of RAM and integrated graphics. It can be equipped with either 500GB hard drive with 32GB SSD for cache or a 256GB SSD. For enhanced multimedia experience, the Ultrabook also comes with harman/kardon speakers with SRS Premium Sound 3D sound enhancement. There is also Resolution+ Video enhancement technology.
The Satellite U845W supports WiFi and features three USB 3.0 ports, HDMI port and a memory card slot. The USB Sleep and Charge and Toshiba Sleep & Music allow you to charge your mobile devices and enjoy music while the notebook is sleep or turned off.
