ViewSonic showcased at the Computex 2012 the VCD22, a 22-inch Smart Display running Android OS. You may consider it as a super size Android tablet. Inside the VCD22 you can find a TI OMAP 1GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage. The 1920×1080 Full HD display supports multitouch and has 5ms response time. According to ViewSonic, the display is designed for instant access to cloud hosted applications and virtualized Windows or Linux environments.
ViewSonic’s VCD22 runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It comes with a 1.2 Megapixel front camera, support for Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, HDMI input and a microSD card slot. There is also a Ethernet LAN port and three USB ports. Adding a keyboard and mouse transforms the smart display into a productivity tool. The VCD22 also sports SRS surround sound speakers.
