Following the J1, Nikon expands its 1 System with the new J2 mirrorless camera. The J2, not only looks identical to the J1, but also sports the same 10.1 Megapixel CX-format COMS image sensor, EXPEED 3 image processing engine and Advanced Hybrid Autofocus (AF) system that allows users to capture fast actions. As an update to the J1, the new model adds a new Creative Mode accessible from the Mode Dial, which will automatically adjust camera settings for shooting in creative modes such as Selective Color, Miniature, Night Landscape, Night Portrait…etc. The new Mode Dial also provides access to P/S/A/M modes.
Nikon’s J2 also sports a higher resolution 3-inch 921,000 dot LCD monitor to deliver sharper details. The camera is capable of high-speed shooting at up to 10 frams-per-second (FPS) with AF, or up to 60 fps with AF locked on the first frame. It supports Full HD video recording and features the Motion Snapshot mode for creating slow motion movie vignette. There is also Smart Photo Selector that takes multiple shots and select the best one automatically. It offers mini HDMI output for showing photos and videos on HDTV.
The Nikon J2 comes with a metallic body with and is available in white, black, silver, pink, red and orange colors. The camera is bundled with a 10-30mm lens and will be released in September for $549.99.
