After the Live and Lounge, Danish company Libratone is back, bring a new portable wireless speaker called Zipp. The battery-powered Zipp supports AirPlay and features Libratone’s all-new PlayDirect technology to create a direction with iPhone, iPod or iTunes-running computer for wireless music streaming without the need for a WiFi network. Of course, if you are at home, you can simply utilize your home WiFi for AirPlay streaming.
The Zipp sports two 1-inch ribbon-based tweeters and one 4-inch bass drive units, and full digital amplification to deliver 60W of total output, and features the FullRoom technology to create a 360-degree sound experience. Other than AirPlay, the Zipp also has a USB port for direct playback from iPhone, iPod, iPad and a 3.5mm audio jack for playing music from other audio sources. It gets a leather handle for easy carrying.
The rechargeable battery inside Libratone Zipp offers up to 8 hours of wired play time or 4 hours wirelessly. It comes in a rainbow color selection, including Salty Grey, Pepper Black, Pineapple Yellow, Raspberry Red, Passion Pink, Plum Purple, Petrol Blue and Icy Blue. The Grey and Red versions will be available exclusively at Apple Store or Apple Online Store for $399. There are also 3-pack-color boxes with two extra wool zip-on covers, the Classic Color Collection features Libratone Zipp in Pepper Black, Petrol Blue & Raspberry Red and the fresh Funky Color Collection includes Pepper Black, Passion Pink and Pineapple Yellow covers. Each collection is priced at $449.
