Mushkin managed to fit 8 NAND flash chips and a controller on a mSATA PCB, allowing Ultrabook and slim notebook users to go beyond 256GB mSATA storage capacity. The US-made Atlas mSATA SSD is equipped with SandForce SF-2281 SSD processor with unthrottled IOPS, and uses MLC NAND flash to deliver fast performance. The mSATA drive supports TRIM command, S.M.A.R.T. and built-in ECC error correction.

Mushkin’s Atlas 480GB mSATA SSD (model MKNSSDAT480GB) will be available in January 2013 for $499.99.
