Sony brings to the ISE (Integrated Systems Europe) 2013 its Laser Light Source projector. As its name tells, the new model uses laser as light source, instead of LEDs, to provide optimum brightness. Though it is not the world’s first laser projector, Sony’s new projector is the first one to use laser light source with 3LCD display engine.
Sony’s Laser Light Source projector features WUXGA 1920×1200 resolution and a 4000 lumens brightness. According to Sony, the projector has up to 20,000 hours of maintenance-free time. Sony also claims that combining 3LCD and laser light source allows the projector to produce “brighter images, better contrast ratios and outstanding color stability.” The projector is tilt free with an portrait mode, providing installation flexibility.
Sony Laser Light Source will be released in Summer 2013.
