Following the 7-inch model, Samsung expands its Galaxy Tab 3 line with the new bigger 8-inch and 10.1-inch models, offering consumers more choices. The 8-inch model, like the 7-incher, is designed to be held in on hand for watching videos, reading e-book anywhere on the go; while the 10.1-inch version combines sleek design and enhanced multimedia capabilities for home and family use.
The Tab 3 8-inch gets a 1280×800 TFT LCD touchscreen with a super slim bezel. It has a 5 Megapixel main camera with 720- HD video recording and a 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat. The device boasts a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM.
The 10.1-inch Tab 3 also has a 1280×800 touchscreen but the main camera has a low resolution of 3 Megapixel, though still capable of 720p video recording. A 1.3 Megapixel front camera is available for video chat. Samsung equipped the tablet with a slightly faster 1.6GHz dual-core processor and only 1GB of RAM.
Both tablets support dual-band WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 4.0, AGPS/GLONASS, and the 10-inch model includes MHL support and Smart Remote as well. They come in 16GB and 32GB capacities and supports up to 64GB microSD memory card. Running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, you can find ChatON, Samsung Apps pre-loaded. The 8-incher also gets S Translator, S Travel and Smart Travel Companion.
