Mercedes Benz F800 Style is the car marker’s latest concept/research vehicle, which features a all-new multi-drive platform that utilizes either fuel cell that allows ranges of almost 375 miles and Plug-in Hybrids that can drive for up to 18 miles solely on electricity.

The Hybrid variant of the F800 Style gets a V6 gasoline engine with 300hp output and a hybrid module with an output of 300hp, offering 409hp total power. Sony introduces two new in-car A/V centers, the XAV-70BT and XAV-60; and two new car stereo systems, the DSX-S100 and CDX-GT700HD.

The XAV-70BT is Sony’s flagship in-dash A/V center. It features a 7-inch WVGA motorized panel display, DVD/CD player,  multi-channel playback with Center Speaker Organizer (CSO), creating virtual 5.1 channel surround sound throughout the car, SensMe music software, and Advanced Sound Engine (ASE). A company called Capstone Turbine shows at the LA Auto Show its CMT-380 prototype hybrid electric supercar which is boosted by the company’s microturbine technology. The car is powered by traditional batteries and an untraditional ultra low emission range extending microturbine. It does 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds, 150 mph top speed, and an unheard-of driving range of up to 500 miles on a single tank of fuel.

The CMT-380 features lithium-polymer battery cells that can be charged at home or at a public recharging station. It can can operate on 100 percent battery power in zero emissions mode for a range of up to 80 miles.

What is a Microturbine?

The CMT-380′s 30-kilowatt microturbine features an electric generator and turbine components mounted on a single shaft, which is supported by air bearings — so there are no liquids to lubricate or cool the microturbine. At the L.A. Auto Show, Chevrolet presents the he U.S. production version of the 2011 Cruze compact sedan. It is boosted by either a new Ecotec 1.4L I-4 turbo that produces 138 horsepower and 148 torque or a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine.

Infiniti, the luxury car division of Nissan, announced at the LA Auto Show 2009 its 2011 Infiniti M. Two models will be offered, the Infiniti M37 with a 330-horsepower 3.7-liter VVEL V6 and the Infiniti M56 with an all-new 420-horsepower 5.6-liter VVEL Direct Injection Gasoline V8.

The engines of the M37 and M56 feature Infiniti’s advanced VVEL (Variable Valve Event & Lift) system and a standard 7-speed automatic transmission. Lexus announces today the official launch of the LFA, a two-seat supercar scheduled to go into production at the end of 2010 as the pinnacle of the Lexus “F” premium sports car series.

Lexus’ LFA is boosted by a 4.8-liter V10 engine offering up to 412kW (560PS)/8,700rpm output and 480N-m (48.9kgf-m)/6,800rpm torque. The LFA has a max speed of 325km/h and is able to go from 0 to 100km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
