JVC adds to its PCISIO line the all-new GC-WP10 pocket camcorder that is IPX8 certified for waterproof up to 10 meters. The new WP10 is capable of recording 1920×1080 Full HD video and 5 Megapixel still images. It features built-in digital image stabilizer, 4x digital zoom, Time-Lapse REC, and Face Detection functions.

Sony Alpha A33

Sony announced its Alpha A33 (SLT-A33) and A55 (SLT-A55V) digital SLR cameras. Both new Alpha cameras sports Sony’s new Translucent Mirror Technology, which achieves the highest-level of auto focus speed for both still image and movie shooting. They both have “a translucent mirror, which enables light passing through the lens to be simultaneously received by the image sensor and the auto focus sensor, allowing continuous shooting and continuous focusing at speeds never before possible.”

Kodak launches the EasyShare M590 that is claimed to be the world’s thinnest 5x optical zoom digital camera. The 14 Megapixel M590 sports a 5x optical zoom SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON lens, a 2.7-inch LCD with Kodak Color Science Technology, 64MB internal memory and a microSD/SDHC memory card slot. The M590 records 1280x720p HD video at 30fps in H.263 format.

Alongside the compact SD4500 IS, Canon brings another long zoom digital camera, the PowerShot SX130 IS, replacing the SX120 IS. Canon equipps the camera with a 12x optical zoom lens with Optical Image Stabilization and 28mm wide angle, upgrading from 10x zoom of SX120 IS.

Canon launches the new PowerShot SD4500 IS (aka IXUS 1000 HS in Europe and IXY 50S in Japan) compact digital camera. The new digicam features a 10 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and 10x optical zoom with Optical Image Stabilization, which is a huge step forward from 3.8x of its predecessor, SD4000 IS. The SD4500 IS is said to be the thinnest 10x optical zoom digital camera. It is also the first Digital ELPH camera to support Full HD 1080p video recording.

Kodak announced the new PLAYTOUCH pocket video recorder that comes in portrait-style form factor. This new video camera features Full HD video recording and 5 Megpaixel stills shooting. It comes with a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen LCD display and offers HDMI output for showing captures videos or images on HDTV.

Canon introduces the PowerShot S95 compact digital camera, the successor to the S90, which is the company’s first camera to have the in-camera High Dynamic Range (HDR) scene. The S95 is also the first PowerShot model to feature the Hybrid IS image stabilization technology.

Canon announced its new EOS 7D Studio Version (7DSV) DSLR camera, ideal for professional school and event photographers which features four levels of “locking” camera controls for studio environments.
