Sony officially announced at the E3 its new PlayStation Vita (PCH-1000 series) next generation portable gaming device designed to bring users a new portable gaming experience. At first sight, the PS Vita may look like the original PlayStation Portable (PSP), but it actually gets a all-new Life (Vita means “Life” in Latin). The handheld is available for $249 for WiFi-only model and $299 for 3G/WiFi model.

The PS Vita features a 5-inch multitouch OLED touchscreen front display and a unique multi-touch pad on the rear, allowing users to interact directly with games in three dimension-like motion, through “touch, grab, trace, push and pull” finger motions. It comes with two analog sticks which enable a wider range of game genres to be brought into the portable experience, such as shooters, action games, and fighting games.

Finally, Sony Ericsson officially announced its Xperia PLAY PlayStation phone at the MWC 2011. Running Android 2.0 Gingerbread OS with Timescape UI, the PLAY is the world’s first PlayStation-certified smartphone. It features a side-sliding gaming control with a digital D pad, two analogue touch pads, two shoulder buttons and the four PlayStation icons: circle, cross, square and triangle, making it look just like the PSP Go.

Activision and Treyarch are launching the Call of Duty: Black Ops first-person shotter game today. With the release of the game, TV commercial has been made, as you can watch above. Sony launches two new EyePet games the EyePet Move Edition and the EyePet PSP that comes with a camera. The EyePet Move Edition works with Sony’s latest Move controllers and the EyePet will react to every movement and command. The EyePet is virtually projected into your living room where he can play and interact with you and your family. Grab a PlayStation Eye camera and PlayStation Move motion controller and control toys and objects on screen just by moving your hands.

The EyePet PSP is basically a mobile version. The package includes the game and a PSP camera so you can take your EyePet out of the living room and anywhere you want to go.

Both EyePet games allow users to customize the pet and draw new toys for the pet. The EyePet Move Edition is available at Amazon for $36.40 and the EyePet PSP for $39.99.

Engadget has posted a bunch of photos of Sony Ericsson’s PlayStation Phone (codenamed Zeus). It is said that the device in the shots is still in prototyping mode. The so-called Android-running PlayStation Phone packs a Qualcomm MSM8655 1GHz processor, 512MB RAM, 1GB of ROM.

The PlayStation Phone has a slide-out gamepad with shoulder buttons, like the PSP Go. It’s screen will be of about 3.7-4.1-inch. We can expect the phone to include Sony’s custom marketplace for downloading games. More pictures below:
