LG launches in Europe its BP40NS20, a super slim portable Blu-ray burner. Using USB 2.0 interface, the portable optical drive burns BD-R, BD-RE, BD-R DL, BD-RE DL at up to 6x. Other than conventional Blu-ray Discs, the BP40NS20 also supports playback of 3D Blu-ray Discs and BDXL. It has 4MB buffer memory.

The USB Blu-ray burner also writes DVD+/-R at up to 8x, DVD-RW at 6x and DVD+R at 8x, DVD-RAM at 5x as well as CD-R and CD-RW at 24x. With LightScribe support, users can burn customized labels onto a special coated LightScribe discs, creating a fully personalized disc.

The LG BP40NS20 measures 160 x 22 x 153mm and weighs 380g. The portable Blu-ray writer is available at Amazon for $142.06.

Canon PowerShot A1300 Black

Another two new additions to the A-series, the PowerShot A1300 and PowerShot A810 are cameras powered by AA batteries. Canon introduces two new long-zoom digital cameras, the PowerShot SX260 HS and the PowerShot SX240 HS. Both have a sleek and compact design, yet packs Canon’s 25mm wide angle 20x optical zoom lens with 4-stop optical Image Stabilizer. According to Canon, the new models are its slimmest 20x zoom camera. The SX260 comes with built-in GPS chip for tagging each picture with the local time and location it was taken automatically. The Map Utility software also lets you to view your journey on Google Maps.
