According to InfoWorld, MSI is going to launch its mini desktop PC, the Wind mini desktop in Asia and Europe in July. The Wind mini desktop is MSI’s answer to Asus Eee Box mini desktop, as the Wind mini laptop is to Asus Eee PC.

The Wind mini-desktop is designed with parts from mini-laptop PCs. It is powered by the same Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM (up to 2GB), up to 160GB hard drive and integrate graphics.

The Wind desktop features also WiFi 802.11b/g and a DVD writer. It will cost around $299.

Other than a bunch of mini laptops, we also see quite a number of mini convertible tablet PCs, such as Gigabyte’s M912, Flybook V5, Kohjinsha’s SC3/SX3. Aware, a Taiwan company, offer another mini tablet, called A-Pad.

The Aware A-Pad is powered by an Aday5G 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, and 4GB of NAND Flash. It features a 7-inch 800480 touchscreen display, WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, VGA out, built-in webcam and a SD/MMC card slot. You may also get the optional 3G and GPS support.

The A-Pad runs the Linux-based LINOS 2.6.21. It is priced at around $300 USD.

Denon is going to release in Japan the ASD-11R iPod Dock. You can connect the dock to Denon’s AMP, you can then control the iPod directly from your Denon audio system and display iPod information. You can also connect the dock to TV via S-Video socket.

Roberts Radio from the UK introduces the solarDAB, which is the world’s first solar-powered DAB radio. The solarDAB features a top-mounted solar panel and there is a level indicator on the diplay screen that shows the strength of the solar level being absorbed.

It has a white backlit LCD display and a line-in socket for MP3 or iPod playback. It is powered by built-in rechargeable battery that can last up to 27 hours for a single charge.

HP releases the xw4550, a workstation based on AMD’s Opteron. xw4550 is powered by an AMD Opteron 1212 2GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, NVIDIA Quadro FX 290 graphics with 256 MB of RAM and a 160GB hard drive.

If the above configuration is not enough. You can get the top model with an AMD Opteron 2.8GHz CPU, 4GB of RAM, NVIDIA Quadro FX 570 graphic card and 250GB hard drive.

The workstation features also 16X DVD SuperMulti dual layer burner. It runs Windows Vista with downgrade to Windows XP Professional.

Here comes DXG’s challenger, Lancerlink from Japsn. Lancerlink introduces the DDV-1080HD, that is an entry–level HD camcorder.

The Lancerlink DDV-1080HD comes with a 5 Megapixel image sensor and is able to record 1,440 x 1,080 videos at 30fps or 1,280 x 720 videos at 60fps in H.264 format. It features a 3-inch LCD monitor and 90MB internal memory.

The DDV-1080HD supports SD, MMC and SDHC memory cards, HDTV  component output and USB connectivity. The camcorder is priced at 49800 Yen, that is more pricey than DXG.

Sony Ericsson releases in Japan its HBH-DS205 Bluetooth headphones for SE mobile phones. The HBH-DS205 supports Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR that is compatible with A2DP, AVRCP, HSP, and HFP. The maximum working distance is 10m. It comes with also a 3.5mm headphone jack for it to work with other deivces such as MP3 players.

The Bluetooth headset offers 20-20,000Hz frequency response. It is really light weight (13g).

Samsung offers in Korea the new lines of notebooks, the NT-Q70F and NT-Q70C. Both of them are 13.3-inch notebooks.

Samsung NT-Q70C  is powered by an Intel Pentium 4 T2410 dual core processor running at 2GHz, 2GB of RAM and ATI’s integrated graphics. There are also 250GB hard drive and DVD SuperMulti burner. The laptop comes with WiFi 802.11b/g with Atheros’ wireless LAN card.

Samsung NT-Q70C, on the other hand, is equipped with an Intel Pentium T2390 1.83GHz dual core CPU, 2GB of RAM and Intel GMA 3100 graphics. It has 160GB storage capacity and a SuperMulti DVD Dual layer burner. It supports WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n(MIMO).

Both laptops have a 13.3-inch LCD display, a 6-in-1 card reader and Bluetooth.

Gigabyte is preparing its M912, a mini tablet PC powered by Atom. Gigabyte M912 is equipped with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, which is also used by other mini laptops. It has also up to 1GB of RAM160GB hard drive.

The M912 comes with a 8.9-inch 1280×768 touchscreen with LED backlit, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g WiFi and a 1.3 Megapixel webcam. It runs Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Gigabyte M912 measures 235 x 180 x 28~42mm and weighs 1.3 kg.
