According to InfoWorld, MSI is going to launch its mini desktop PC, the Wind mini desktop in Asia and Europe in July. The Wind mini desktop is MSI’s answer to Asus Eee Box mini desktop, as the Wind mini laptop is to Asus Eee PC.

The Wind mini-desktop is designed with parts from mini-laptop PCs. It is powered by the same Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, 1GB of RAM (up to 2GB), up to 160GB hard drive and integrate graphics.

The Wind desktop features also WiFi 802.11b/g and a DVD writer. It will cost around $299.

Other than a bunch of mini laptops, we also see quite a number of mini convertible tablet PCs, such as Gigabyte’s M912, Flybook V5, Kohjinsha’s SC3/SX3. Aware, a Taiwan company, offer another mini tablet, called A-Pad.

The Aware A-Pad is powered by an Aday5G 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, and 4GB of NAND Flash. It features a 7-inch 800480 touchscreen display, WiFi and Bluetooth wireless connectivity, VGA out, built-in webcam and a SD/MMC card slot. You may also get the optional 3G and GPS support.

The A-Pad runs the Linux-based LINOS 2.6.21. It is priced at around $300 USD.

Here comes DXG’s challenger, Lancerlink from Japsn. Lancerlink introduces the DDV-1080HD, that is an entry–level HD camcorder.

The Lancerlink DDV-1080HD comes with a 5 Megapixel image sensor and is able to record 1,440 x 1,080 videos at 30fps or 1,280 x 720 videos at 60fps in H.264 format. It features a 3-inch LCD monitor and 90MB internal memory.

The DDV-1080HD supports SD, MMC and SDHC memory cards, HDTV  component output and USB connectivity. The camcorder is priced at 49800 Yen, that is more pricey than DXG.

The maximum working distance is 10m. It comes with also a 3.5mm headphone jack for it to work with other deivces such as MP3 players.

The Bluetooth headset offers 20-20,000Hz frequency response. It is really light weight (13g).

Samsung NT-Q70C, on the other hand, is equipped with an Intel Pentium T2390 1.83GHz dual core CPU, 2GB of RAM and Intel GMA 3100 graphics. It has 160GB storage capacity and a SuperMulti DVD Dual layer burner. It supports WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n(MIMO).

Both laptops have a 13.3-inch LCD display, a 6-in-1 card reader and Bluetooth.

Gigabyte is preparing its M912, a mini tablet PC powered by Atom. Gigabyte M912 is equipped with an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, which is also used by other mini laptops. It has also up to 1GB of RAM160GB hard drive.

The M912 comes with a 8.9-inch 1280×768 touchscreen with LED backlit, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g WiFi and a 1.3 Megapixel webcam. It runs Windows XP or Windows Vista.

Gigabyte M912 measures 235 x 180 x 28~42mm and weighs 1.3 kg.
