Olympus launches the new XZ-1 high-end compact digital camera with “X-treme” features. The compact digicam features a X-factor design offering full manual control in slim, pocket-sized body; X-ceptional image quality with TruePic V image processor; X-cellent low-light performance with a ultra wide angle iZUIKO f1.8-2.5 6.0-24mm lens with 4x optical zoom, as well as X-treme creativity with six art filters.

Pentax introduces a new compact digital camera, the Optio S1 with an eye-catching, gem-like finish. The new S1 has a ultra lightweight body and comes in striking Chrome or a glossy Black or Green. The 14 Megapixel S1 sports a 28mm wide angle 5x optical zoom lens, a 2.7-inch LCD display. It features Sensor-shift PENTAX Shake Reduction (SR) system, PENTAX Auto Picture mode, Fast Face Detection, Smile Capture and High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode.

Casio is launching two entry-level point-and-shoot digital cameras, the Exilim EX-ZS10 and EX-ZS5. Both cameras have 14.1 Megapixel resolution and a 26mm wide angle lens with 5x optical zoom as well as a 2.7-inch LCD display. The ZS10 is able to record 720p HD video while the ZS5 features VGA video recording at a resolution of 640×480.

Olymous announced a new ultra zoom digital camera, the SZ-10 with a 18x long zoom 28-504mm wide-angle lens. The camera packs a 14 Megapixel image sensor, a 3-inch LCD display. It includes 3 Photo Mode that “captures two shots of a scene from two different angles to create still photos that can be viewed with the added excitement and realism of 3D,” and supports 720p HD video recording.

Samsung announced a new sleek, stylish, compact touchscreen digital camera, the ST6500. The camera incorporates the latest angled design, with the camera’s body curved around the lens and angled at 7 degrees to make for a more ergonomic fit in the hand. It supports 720p HD video recording.

Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FH27

Panasonic adds two new FH models, the LUMIX DMC-FH27 and DMC-FH25, to its 2010 LUMIX lineup. Both cameras sport 16.1 Megapixel sensor and a 28mm wide angle LEICA DC lens with 8x optical zoom. They have a new design with an easy-to-hold grip and slim and stylish profile. The FH27 comes with a 3-inch Smart Touch Screen for full touch-control operation while the FH25 has a 2.7-inch Intelligent LCD without touch control.

Panasonic introduces two new LUMIX S-series compact digital cameras, the 14.1 Megapixel DMC-S3 and the 12.1 Megapixel DMC-S1. They have a new rounded shaped that fits comfortably in the palm of the hand. The S3 and S1 both have a 28mm wide angle 4x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD display.

Nikon announced a new prosumer level digital camera, the CoolPix P7000, which is “an ideal traveling companion to your DSLR, according to Nikon. The P7000, joining the P100 and P6000 P-series cameras, features 10.1 Megapixel 1/1.7-inch CCD image sensor, a 7.1x zoom wide angle NIKKOR ED glass lens with 28mm wide angle, a large optical viewfinder with diopter adjustment dial and a 3-inch LCD display.

Canon introduces the PowerShot S95 compact digital camera, the successor to the S90, which is the company’s first camera to have the in-camera High Dynamic Range (HDR) scene. The S95 is also the first PowerShot model to feature the Hybrid IS image stabilization technology.

Olympus annouced its new mju-7050 (µ-7050) compact digital camera with a slim, stylish design. The new camera is equipped with TruePic III image processing engine, a 14 Megapixel CCD image sensor, a 7x zoom lens with 28mm wide angle and a 3-inch LCD display.
