Pioneer launches the Elite VSX-42 and Elite VSX-60 AV receivers for users who wants not just audio quality but control and connectivity. The 7.1-channel VSX-42 offers 80-watt x 7 power output while the VSX-60 delivers 90-watt x 7 power. In addition to wired Ethernet connectivity for access to network content (vTuner, Pandora), they also support AirPlay and DLNA 1.5. Users can also add WiFi support to the latter using the optional AS-WL300 network adapter. They allow users to control their home entertainment system using portable devices using the ControlApp and iControlAV2012 applications.

Along with the 7.2-channel SC-61 and SC-62, Pioneer also introduces three new 9.2-channel Elite AV receivers, SC-65, SC-67 and SC-68. All of them sport Digital Class D3 amplifier to deliver true audio potential of uncompressed sources. The SC-65 offers 130-watt x 9 power output while the other two models provide 140-watt x 9 output. Basically, they include all features of SC-61 and SC-62 and of course add some unique functions.

Pioneer expands its Elite SC series AV receivers with two new 7.2-channel models, the SC-61 and SC-63. The two models are almost identical, except that the SC-63 includes Advanced PC Setup that makes custom installation much more convenient allowing installers to pre-configure connection settings on their Windows PC before the installation process, and even adjust the receiver from a remote location.

Sony adds to its premium ES series the new flagship DA5700ES AV receiver designed to deliver authentic cinema sound. The new receiver features 7.2-channel output that is expandable to 9.2 channels by adding 2 front high speakers. It features the Digital Cinema Auto Calibration EX (DCAC EX) technology to optimize the surround system to suit the room. “Simply place the included stereo microphone where you’ll be seated and DCAC EX automatically optimizes audio settings based on the distance, delays and placement of your speakers.” It features DTS Neo X and supports Faroujda 1080p upscaling

Onkyo TX-NR717

Onkyo introduces two new mid-range audio/video receivers, the TX-NR717 and TX-NR818 with 7.2-channel output and network connectivity. Both models are THX Select2 Plus Certified and provides 7.2-channel output. The former provides 110W/ch and the latter delivers 135W/ch. They are equipped with Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24-bit DACs on all seven channel, and the TX-NR818 includes also PLL jitter-cleaning circuits to further improve signal quality, as well as isolated power amp and pre-amp blocks.

Pioneer VSX-522

Pioneer announced its line of 2012 A/V receivers, VSX-522, VSX-822, VSX-1022 and VSX-1122. The first two models delivers 5.1-channel output, and the VSX-1022 and VSX-1122 offers 7.1-channel and 7.2-channel output, respectively. All of them have Direct Energy amplifier design and are 3D-ready. These receivers are equipped with Texas Instruments Aureus Digital Core DSP Engine and 192kHz / 24-Bit DAC.
