After listing the LX5 on the support page, Panasonic officially announced the Lumix DMC-LX5 “ultimate compact, high-performing digital camera”. The LX5 serves as the successor to the LX3. It features a all-new 10.1 Megapixel CCD sensor with expanded dynamic range for better low-light performance, a F2.0 ultra-wide-angle 24mm LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens with 3.8x optical zoom and a 3-inch LCD display with igh CRI (Color Rendering Index) backlight LED.

Panasonic introduces a new digital camera that supports the AVCHD Lite format, the slim and stylish LUMIX DMC-FX75. The new FX75 sports a 14.1 Megapixel image sensor, the Venus Engine HD II image processor, and a 24mm ultra-wide-angle F2.2 bright LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens with 5x optical zoom. It can record HD video (probably 720p) in AVCHD Lite format.

Panasonic officially introduces the new Lumix DMC-G2, the company’s latest Micro Four Thirds that serves as the successor to the Lumix G1. The G2 is the first Micro43 camera to feature a touchscreen for touch-operation allowing users to lock onto a subject for AF tracking, select the part and the size of AF area with the 1-area AF and access menu settings easily.

Other than the ZS7, ZS5 and TS2, Panasonic presents also the Lumix DMC-ZR3 (DMC-ZX3)digital camera replacing the DMC-ZR1/ZX1. The super slim ZR3 is almost identical to the rugged TS2, but it is not rugged and comes with a 25mm ultra-wide-angle Leica lens with 8x optical zoom that can be extended to 10x by the Intelligent Zoom function.

Panasonic announced the Lumix DMC-TS2 (DMC-FT2), the company’s second rugged digital camera designed for active outdoor use, following the DMC-TS1/DMC-FT1. The new TS2 further strengthens its toughness and is waterproof to 33 feet (10m), shockproof to 10 feet (2m), freezeproof to 14-degree F (-10-degree C) and dustproof.

Panasonic announced the new Lumix DMC-ZS7 (aka DMC-TZ10), the world’s smallest photo/video hybrid superzoom digital camera. As the successor to the Lumix ZS3, the ZS7 features 12.1 Megapixel image sensor, a  25mm ultra-wide-angle Leica lens with 12x optical zoom and built-in GPS that embeds photos and videos with the latitude and longitude location details.

Panasonic presents the Lumix DMC-TS1, the world’s first waterproof, shockproof and dustproof digital camera. Like the ZS3, the Lumix TS1 has AVCHD Lite 720p High Definition (HD) video recording capabilities. It is a 12.1 Megapixel camera with a 28mm wide-angle LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR 4.6x optical zoom lens and a 2.7-inch LCD display.

Panasonic announced the new Lumix ZS-series digital camera, including the DMC-ZS3 (aka DMC-TZ7 in Europe) and DMC-ZS1 (aka DMC-TZ6) . These compact cameras feature a 10.1 Megapixel sensor, a LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens with 25mm ultra-wide angle and 12x powerful optical zoom.

The Lumix DMC-ZS3 is world’s first digital camera to have AVCHD Lite 720p HD video recording ability. It comes with Panasonic’s Intelligent Auto (iA) mode with Face Detection and 26 scene modes.
