Pentax introduces the K-30, its new weather- and dust-proof digital SLR camera which is ideal for photographers with active outdoor lifestyles. The K-30 is compact and lightweight and comes with a weather, dust and cold resistant body featuring 81 seals set. According to Pentax, the camera is able to operate in sub-freezing temperatures as low as 14°F (-10°C).

Nikon brings a new entry-level DSLR camera, the D3200 joining the D3100. While the D3100 packs 14.2 Megapixel sensor and ISO 100-3200, the new D3200 is equipped with a 24.2 Megapixel Nikon DX-format CMOS image sensor, and supports ISO 100-6200 and a Hi 1 setting equivalent to ISO 12800. It also sports EXPEED 3 image processing engine with “high performance that enables faithful rendering, vivid color reproduction, and expression of a broad dynamic range.”

Sony adds to its Alpha DSLR camera line the latest Alpha A57 camera with Translucent Mirror technology. replacing the one-and-a-half year old Alpha A55. According to Sony, the Translucent Mirro design directs incoming light to the CMOS image sensor and the AF sensor at the same time, allowing full-time continuous AF during both still and video shooting. The DSLR packs a 16.1 Megapixel APS-C Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and  a latest-generation BIONZ engine. It offers an ISO range from 100 to 16,000 and extendable to up to ISO 25,600.

Canon introduces a new digital SLR camera, the EOS 5D Mark III, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the EOS system. The new model sits between the 5D Mark II and the top model EOS 1D X. It is equipped with a newly designed 22.3 Megapixel full-frame CMOS image sensor and DIGIC 5+ image processor for enhanced noise reduction and processing speed.

Nikon introduces its new flagship D4 Digital SLR camera (DSLR) with a multitude of new features and functions, replacing the D3, D3X and D3s To deliver supreme image quality, the D4 is equipped with a 16.2 Megapixel FX-Format Full Frame CMOS image sensor and the new Nikon EXPEED 3 image processing engine. It offers a broad ISO range from 100 to 204,800 for enhanced low-light performance, and the new 91,000-pixel RGB 3D Color Matrix metering system that meticulously analyzes each scene and recognizes factors such as color and brightness with unprecedented precision.

Sony Alpha A77 with SAL1650

Sony launched two new high-end DSLR cameras, the Alpha A77 (SLT-A77) and the Alpha A65 (SLT-A65), both equipped with Translucent Mirror Technology to deliver quick response and fast shooting. Both A77, successor to the A700, and A65 sport 24.3 Megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS image sensor and enhanced BIONZ processor. They is capable of super-fast continuous burst shooting with phase-detection AF with A77 at 12fps and A65 at 10fps.

Nikon introduces its new D5100 Digital SLR camera designed for “those ready to artistically express themselves and need a versatile camera that can keep pace creatively.” The 16.2 Megapixel DX format DSLR offers ISO range of 100-6400, 11-point AF system, full manual controls (P,S,A,M on the mode dial) and NEF (RAW) recording.

Canon announced the new EOS 600D / Rebel T3i / Kiss X5 entry-level digital SLR camera, which is the successor to the EOS Rebel T2i / 550D. Designed for beginning photographers, the 600D/T3i includes the new Feature Guide instruction that will walk Rebel T3i users through functions and provide recommendations for various settings, a great hands-on learning tool; and the Scene Intelligent Auto mode for point-and-shoot users.
