Huawei announced at the CES 2012 the world’s slimmest smatphone, the Ascend P1 S that measures just 6.68mm thin. Powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz TI OMAP 4460 Cortex-A9 processor, the Ascend P1 S runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It has a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen with 940×540 resolution and Gorilla Glass.

Toshiba announced at the CES 2012 its Excite X10 for the US market (also known as AT200 in some markets and Regza AT700 in Japan), which is the world’s thinnest 10-inch tablet measuring just 7.7mm thick and weighs just 535g. The device has as premium, ultra slim, lightweight design and is equipped with magnesium alloy surface for durability and style. It is powered by a TI OMAP 4430 dual-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of LPDDR2 RAM.

Samsung introduces the new GALAXY Ace Plus Android smartphone, the enhanced version of the GALAXY Ace. The new Ace Plus is boosted by a 1GHz processor and 512MB RAM and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. The phone has a 3.65-inch 320×480 touchscreen and a 5 Megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash.

Following the first PRADA phone and PRADA II, LG and PRADA extend their partnership, introducing the PRADA Phone by LG 3.0. Styled with PRADA’s clean and sharp design philosophy, the handset features a full glossy touchscreen to the front and PRADA’s signature Saffiano pattern to the back, all finished in classic black. It is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and runs Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread OS with a PRADA UI, with a future scheduled upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Motorola is launching in China the XT928 Android smartphone for China Telecom. Coming in this December, the XT928 is the King of Multimedia according to Motorola. It features a 4.6-inch 1280×720 HD touchscreen, a 13 Megapixel camera with 1080p Full HD video recording, and Dolby Digital Plus audio technology, delivering  a “mobile multimedia you’ve never experienced it before”.

Korean e-book company is launching in Korea its e-book reading device using Mirasol display. The e-book reader features a 5.7-inch Qualcomm Mirasol display that combines the strength of LCD and e-ink, making it able to display colors and be viewed in direct sunlight.

Verizon Wireless is launching the Samsung Illusion, a mid-range Android smartphone. Boosted by a 1GHz Samsung Hummingbird processor, the phone is running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS with Swype quick input technology. It comes with a 3.5-inch touchscreen, a 3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity.

Sprint is launching a new Android smartphone, the Express, a rebadged Huawei Boulder. The new Express is a bar-type Android phone with full QWERTY keyboard. Running Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS, the phone comes with Sprint ID customizable user interface.

Along with the HTC Vivid, AT&T is also introducing the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket to its LTE 4G lineup. Boosted by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, the Skyrocket runs Android 2.3.5 OS. It features a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus 800×480 touchscreen display, a 8 Megapixel main camera with LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording, 2 Megapixel front-facing camera and 16GB onboard memory.

Google and Samsung have announced the Galaxy Nexus, the first smartphone running the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. The phone features a 4.65-inch 1280×720 HD Super AMOLED touchscreen, a 5 Megapixel main camera with LED flash and zero shutter lag, a 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat, Bluetooth 3.0, integrated NFC and 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz/ 5GHz) WiFi connectivity.
