Archos introduces the new Internet Media Tablets, including the Archos 5 and Archos 7. Both of the Internet Media Tablets supports WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity and comes with the Opera browser.

The Archos 5 is available in 60GB, 120GB and 250GB capacities. It has a 4.8-inch 800×480 touchscreen display. The bigger Archos 7 has a 7-inch 800×480 display and comes with 160GB or 320GB capacity.

They supports all kind of formats, from MP3 to MPEG-4, from JPEG to PDF. Both device can do video and audio recording with the optional DVR Station.

There is another variant of the Archos 5, the Archos 5g that supports 3G HSDPA mobile network.

Archos updates its PMP line-up with the 605WiFi and the 405 PMP. The Archos 605WiFi is available in 30GB, 80GB or 160GB. It has 4GB of flash memory and a SD card slot for SD, mini SD, micro SD cards. Archos 605WiFi features a 4.3-inch 16 million color LCD touchscreen, support for MPEG-4 and WMV video formats and MP3 ,WMA, AAC, WAV music formats.

Comes with WiFi 802.11g connectivity, you can get the Opera browser for web browsing. Photo viewer and PDA viewer are also available. Another model, 405 has also been announced.

I see the Archos 604 WiFi mainly as the joining of web browser and portable video player, I won’t devote much time to the PVR (portable video recorder) feature of the device, since it’s an accessory. So the question becomes, how well can the Archos perform in regards to web browsing and video playback? The answers you find in this review may not be what you expected.

LaptopMag has reviewed the Archos 704 PMP. The Archos 704 has 40GB capacity,  a 7-inch LCD screen with 800×480 resolution, support for MP3, WAV, WMA, protected WMA music and MPEG-4, WMV, protected WMV and also WiFi.
You can also add AAC, AC3, H.264, MPEG-2, and VOB  support with optional plug-ins.
