Panasonic introduces the newest Toughbook U1 Ultra, a fully rugged ultra-mobile PC that meets MIL-STD-810G and IP65 standards for environmental conditions, and is able to withstand a drop of 6 feet from any angle. It has also IP65 certified sealed all-weather design with magnesium alloy chassis and is UL1604 (Class 1, Div 2) certified.

Viliv officially announced two new compact netbook/MID/UMPC, the N5 Go-Everywhere PC and the S10 Blade multitouch tablet PC. Both devices are based on Atom processor and can be equipped with support for HSPA, TD-SCDMA, EVDO, WiMAX 4G connectivity.

Onkyo launches in Japan the new BX407A4 ultra mobile PC. The clamshell device gets a 4.8-inch 1024×600 LCD display and QWERTY keyboard. The BX407A4 is basically a rebadge of the UMID mbook m2. It sports an Intel Atom Z515 1.2GHz processor, 512MB RAM and onboard GMA 500 graphics.

A UK-based company called PsiXpda introduces its first product, which is an UMPC with the same name, PsiXpda. The PsiXpda claims to be “your ultimate pocket computer”. The device, in fact, is not a new product, but  just a rebadged version of the DigiCube MIDPhone-50 or Eking S515.

EKing’s S515 is a slide-style UMPC powered by Intel’s Atom Z515 1.2GHz processor. This compact device has a 4.8-inch 800×480 touchscreen and is equipped with 1GB of RAM, integrated GMA 500 graphics and 16GB flash memory.

Kohjinsha shows at the CEATEC Japan 2009 its new PA-series UMPC/tablet PC. The device features a 4.8-inch 1024×600 swivel touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard. The ultra portable UMPC is powered by Intel’s Atom Z520 1.33GHz processor, 512MB RAM and a 320GB SSD.
