Behind big nineteen-inch BBS front wheels lie six-pot aluminum Brembo calipers–the first ever with “Lexus” written across them–squeezing down on 14.2-inch perforated discs that hope to also clamp down on the lips of Lexus-doubters.

Additionally available and limited to 40 units is the “40th Anniversary Edition” with exclusive AMG Alubeam paintwork, and which marks a special event: AMG, the high-performance brand of the Mercedes Car Group (MCG) celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2007. The new CLK 63 AMG Black Series represents a transition from motor sport into pure culture. The fast V8 coupe is visually and technologically closely related to the Official F1™ Safety Car. With its sophisticated cooling and new AMG threaded sport suspension, this two-seater, with 373 kW/507 hp, is predestined for hard campaigning on the racing circuit.

Lamborghini unveiled the Gallardo Superleggera last month and here is a testdrive. The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is powered by a V10 engine generating 530hp boosting the Gallardo Superleggera from 0-60mph in just 3.8-seconds.
Although Lamborghinis are decidedly built for the road, the results of the Gallardo’s high-perfomance diet can best be seen (and heard) on the race track. This video comes courtesy of the Swedish Auto Motor & Sport, who took the new Superleggera out for a spin at the Phoenix International Raceway in Arizona.

Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy - With the Gallardo Superleggera, Automobili Lamborghini presents an uncompromisingly high-performance sports car. Thanks to increased power (an additional 10 hp) and a 100 kg reduction in weight (USA 70 kg), the new range-leading Gallardo Superleggera is even more dynamic than the already very sporty Gallardo. The weight/power ratio of the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is only 2.5 kg/hp, which puts it unquestionably at the top.

The Superleggera also has the fastest acceleration in its class. It needs only 3.8 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph); 0.2 seconds less than the basic model, and boasting speed and grit under other driving conditions.
The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is an extremely high-performance car: it includes a standard robotized mechanical ‘e-gear’ gearbox that guarantees shifting without removing hands from the steering wheel. The new Gallardo Superleggera can be ordered through the dealer network starting March 2007: production volumes will be restricted to lower numbers than the standard Gallardo.
