Panasonic releases the LUMIX DMC-FX90, a slim, compact digital camera with integrated WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity. Dubbed as a communication camera, the FX90 is able to upload images taken with the camera to social services such as Facebook, Flickr, Picasa or YouTube via WiFI connection. Images can also be transferred to users’ PC wirelessly. The camera has a dedicated WiFi button for instant access.

Sony introduces the Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V, a new compact camera with a 10x optical zoom Sony G lens. Like the DSC-TX100V and DSC-TX10, the HX7V can take 3D still images and offers 3D Sweep Panorama capabilities. It sports a 16.2 Megapixel Exmor R CMOS image sensor and supports Full HD 1080/60i AVCHD video recording.

Panasonic announed the new LUMIX DMC-GH2, replacing its successful predecessor, the LUMIX GH1. The new GH2 is a Micro Four Thirds camera that is compatible with Panasonic’s H-FT012 LUMIX G 12.5mm / F12 3D lens for shooting in 3D. Also, starting from GH2, Panasonic calls its Micro Four Thirds-based LUMIX G series as Digital Single Lens Micro (DSLM) or DSLMicro cameras.

Panasonic introduces the LUMIX DMC-FX700 digital camera that is capable of recording 1080 Full HD video in AVCHD format. The new Lumix camera features a 14.1 Megapixel sensor,  a 24mm ultra wide-angle F2.2 super bright LEICA DC VARIO-SUMMICRON lens with a 5x optical zoom and a 3-inch touchscreen LCD dispay.

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V

Sony launches at the CES 2010 two new Cyber-shot cameras, the DSC-HX5V and the DSC-TX7, that are the world’s first compact digital cameras to include 1080i HD (1920 x 1080 60i) Advanced Video Codec High Definition (AVCHD) video capability.

Panasonic officially announced the latest addition to the Lumix G-series, the Lumix DMC-GF1 compact digital SLR camera that has been leaked before. The camera is claimed to be the world’s smallest and lightest system digital camera with a built-in flash.

Panasonic introduces at the PMA 2009 its new addition to the Lumix G Micro Sytem, the DMC-GH1. As an enhanced version of the Lumix G1, the Lumix DMC-GH1 is also based on the Micro Four Thirds sytem
