Cisco Flip UltraHD

Cisco launches the all-new Flip UltraHD and Flip MinoHD pocket video camcorders. Four models are released, the UltraHD 4GB/1Hour, UltraHD 8GB/2Hour, and the more compact and slim MinoHD 4GB/1Hour and MinoHD 8GB/2Hour. Their model name simply indicated their internal storage capacity and the length of HD video they can record. All of them have a 2-inch 320×240 LCD display and HDMI output.

Sanyo announced in Europe the new Xacti VPC-PD1, a compact, pocket-size Full HD Dual Camera. The camcorder is basically identical to the US-bound VPC-PD2, but gets a different name.

Samsung announced the new HMX-T10, a Full HD camcorder with an innovative 20-degree Slanted Lens that “ensures that the user can truly enjoy their recording experience without any discomfort to their arm or wrist, a common occurrence in standard camcorders currently on the market.” In fact, this is not Samsung’s first slanted lens camcorder. Sony Handycam DCR-SX15E

While we are heading to the world of HD, Sony brings two new value-priced Standard Definition camcorders, the Handycam DCR-SX15E and DCR-SR15E. These camcorders are almost identical, except that the former uses Memory Stick PRO DUO Mark 2 or SD card for storage while the latter comes with built-in 80GB hard drive.

Sony adds to its Bloggie pocket camcorder line the new Bloggie Touch series, which includes the MHS-TS20 and MHS-TS10 with 8GB and 4GB internal memory, respectively. Both Bloggie camcorder can record Full HD 1920x1080p MP4 video and 12.8 Megapixel still images.

Canon announced two new compact XF-Series professional camcorders, the XF105 and XF100, which are the camera maker’s smallest professional camcorders. Both of them are equipped with Canon’s Full HD 1920×1080 CMIS image sensor and uses the Canon XF Codec, which is an “MPEG-2 4:2:2 50Mbps codec used for exceptional high-definition image quality, full non-linear editing (NLE) systems compatibility and efficient, robust workflow.”
