Panasonic will launch in April its SDR-SW21 and SDR-S15 digital camcorders that record to SD/SDHC memory cards, joining the SDR-S26. Both of them feature a fast 0.6 second quick-start recording.

The Panasonic SDR-SW21 is a tough compact camcorder, which is waterproof up to 6.5 feet in both fresh and salt water; shockproof enough to sustain a 4-foot drop; and dustproof to protect against particles such as dirt, sand, and dust. The rugged SDR-SW21 will be available in lime green, orange and silver colors for $399.95.

It’s difficult to see where Panasonic have cut corners with the new FS series of cameras, so much so that the DMC-FS20 is almost identical to the FX55, at a lower introductory price point. The FS20′s 4x zoom lens is a little more versatile, and the move up to 10 megapixels provides slightly larger pictures without adversely affecting image quality (although it hasn’t really been improved either). So just as with the FX55, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20 is a fantastic point and shoot digital camera that anyone in your family can use.
