Canon launches the new PowerShot SD4500 IS (aka IXUS 1000 HS in Europe and IXY 50S in Japan) compact digital camera. The new digicam features a 10 Megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and 10x optical zoom with Optical Image Stabilization, which is a huge step forward from 3.8x of its predecessor, SD4000 IS. The SD4500 IS is said to be the thinnest 10x optical zoom digital camera. It is also the first Digital ELPH camera to support Full HD 1080p video recording.

Canon adds the PowerShot SD4000 IS (aka IXUS 300HS in Europe and IXY 30S in Japan) digital camera to its Digital ELPH line. The new camera is the company’s first model to include a high-sensitivity system, known as Canon’s HS SYSTEM to enhance image quality in low-light situations and helps reduce noise at high ISO speeds.

Canon PowerShot SD1400 IS Orange

Other than the 14x zoom SX210 IS and the touchscreen SD3500 IS, Canon brings also the super slim PowerShot SD1400 IS (IXUS 130 in Europe and IXY 400F in Japan)and SD1300 IS (IXUS 105 in Europe and IXY 200F in Japan) Digital ELPH cameras, replacing the SD940 IS and SD780 IS.

Canon announced the new PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH digital camera which is the US version of the IXY Digital 10. The PowerShot SD1000 has a 7.1 Megapixel CCD image sensor, DIGIC image processor and 3x optical zoom. Other features include a 2.5-inch LCD screen, ISO up to 1600, Face Catch Technology, PictBridge support and a SD card slot supporting also SDHC.

The Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH camera measures 85.9×53.5×19.4mm and weights 125g. It will be available in Mid March.

Canon announced also the new PowerShot SD750 Digital ELPH digital camera which the same as the IXY Digital 90. The PowerShot SD750 Digital ELPH has a 7.1 Megapixel CCD image sensor, DIGIC image processor, 3x optical zoom, ISO up to 1600, Face Catch Technology, PictBridge support and a SD card slot supporting also SDHC. It has also a 3-inch LCD display.

The PowerShot SD750 measures 91.6×56.8×19.6mm and weights 130g. It will be available in Mid March.
