Designer Seungkyun Woo and Junyi Heo have created a fashionable concept wearable bracelet phone that is powered by solar energy. The phone is so flexible that it can wrap around your arm and serves as a watch.

Here is a phone concept design by Finnish design Heikki Juvonen for Nokia. The concept phone has a large display and big keypad buttons. interesting enough, the concept actually looks like NOKLA’s Batman mobile.

Here is a skinny sliding smartphone concept designed by David Turpin. The design includes a large touchscreen, a side-slide QWERTY keyboard and an ultra thin form factor.

This is a concept design of mobile phone named as 8. The 8 has two flip-up touchscreen displays. Designed by Kyung-Ryul Lim + Miyeon Kim, the 8 will also have a camera.

After computer peripherals such as keyboard, keypad, USB flash drive, the Art Lebedev now designs a WiMAX concept phone for Russian carrier Scartel. The phone features a 800×480 display, a front and a back camera, and support for Tri-band GSM network. This touchscreen phone will also support WiMAX and WiFi connectivity. It has a microSD card slot and an USB port.

This is Tatung VOIP, a concept design that is the winner of the 2008 IF, IDEA, and Red Dot awards. Tatung VOIP concept is designed by Nova Design.

Tatung VOIP supports Skype and should have WiFi connectivity. Not sure if it will go onto production.

This is the Maple Phone concept designed by Hyun Jin Yoon and Eun Hak Lee, who have won the Silver award at the International Design Excellence Awards 2008.  The Maple phone is a slider phone with touch sensitive keys that have backlight. As you slide the phone, you can see the phone’s LCD display. The phone will also have integrated camera and music player.

It would probably use the  capacitive touch technology, which is a special panel coated with indium tin oxide or a similar material capable to conduct continuous electrical current across the sensor.

This is a concept named as Plica. Sometimes you may want to use only one screen and sometimes you can use both screens to have a larger touchscreen for webpage viewing or map viewing. It can be a phone, can be a mini laptop-like device as well as a multimedia hub.  However, in this stage the Plica phone is still just a concept.

Chi Shing Lo at the UK’s De Montfort University (DMU), has got the D&AD Student Awards by designing the Orange Hole concept phone.

The Orange Hole concept, of course get a hole that can be used as a viewfinder for the integrated camera; as a charging point using inductive charging technology, and as a means of transferring data.
