Sony launched the VAIO VGC-RM1 desktop computer which is a HD Video Editing System. The VAIO VGC-RM1 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz processor, 2GB RAM(max3GB), 1TB hard drives (250GB x 4) and NVIDIA GeForce 7600GT Graphics.

The VGC-RM1 will feature a Blu-Ray burner supporting not only BD-R, BD-RE, BD-R DL but also DVD+/-R and DVD-RAM. There is also a card reader supporting Memory Stick, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick Duo, Compact Flash Type II, Smart Media, SD/ MultiMediaCard , xD Picture Card and PCMCIA.

Sony unveiled its Vaio VGX-TP1 Media Center PC at the CES 2007. The Sony Vaio VGX-TP1 is powered by an Intel T5600 Core 2 Duo 1.83 Ghz processor, 2GB of DDR RAM, 300GB of hard disk drive. It come with no built-in WiFi but an external Wi-Fi antenna supporting IEEE 802.11b/g. The new Vaio has a built in analog TV tuner and Super drive burner. For connectivity, it has HDMI, RGB, Ethernet, AV input, USB, a SD card slot as well as a Memory Stick card slot. It also comes with a wireless keyboard and remote control.

It is expected to be available by March with for $1600.
