Sony’s ICD-TX50 is a slim, card-type digital voice recorder that is just 6.4mm thick and weighs less than 50g. The recorders sports built-in stereo digital microphone and records in Linear PCM or MP3 (192/128/48 kbps) formats. Its 4GB internal memory is enough for up to 178 hours of MP3 recording, and there is a microSD card slot for expansion. There is a pocket clip to keep the TX50 secured in your shirt pocket, which doubles as a recording stand for tabletop recording.

Olympus introduces its new LS-100 portable linear PCM audio recording device with two internal 90-degree directional stereo condenser microphones that capture lower-bass frequencies and louder sound with less clipping. It supports uncompressed 24bit/96Khz linear PCM digital recording.

Sony ICD-SX712D

Sony expands its line of digital voice recorders with three new models, the ICD-SX712D, ICD-UX512 and ICD-PX312. All these recorders have 2GB built-in memory, a microSD/M2 card slot and have USB port for PC connection. They include Intelligent Noise Cut function and the ICD-SX712D and ICD-UX512 feature S-Microphone System for high sensitivity with less noise. PX312 comes with a mono microphone.

Olympus introduces a new PCM audio recording device, the DM-620 featuring a three microphone TRESMIC system designed to capture low frequency sound for premium recordings. It also includes voice guidance for users with assistive needs as well as auto-leveling, scene select, noise cancellation, zoom microphone and low-cut filter for capturing ideal recordings regardless of the environment.

Sanyo announced a new digital audio recorder, the ICR-PS401RM Xacti Sound Recorder, for Japan. The new linear PCM recorder is available in white and pink colors. It features adjustable noise sensitivity “with a newly developed high-performance stereo microphone”, a LCD display and 4GB internal memory.

TASCAM launches the new DR-03 portable audio recorder with built-in “high-quality condenser microphones”. The DR-03 comes with a 2GB microSD memory card. It records in WAV or MP3 format with up to 48kHz/24-bit quality.

Zoom announced the new H1 Handy Stereo Recorder that promises to offer professional stereo recording at an affordable price of $99. The H1 features two onboard microphone in an X/Y pattern, integrated reference speaker and does 24-bit/96 kHz stereo recordings. It offers the same frequency and SPL handling as popular Zoom H2.
